Lets get it right.
I dont hate Valentines Day necessarily. I dont have a problem with a holiday that celebrates love and such. I do however hate anything thats excessively commercial. I do however hate the inherent pressure to do something great and how this affects otherwise normal sane…

Hate enables. Inject love.
Look at this picture. What do you think her story is?
College graduate? High school? Pretty smile. A sweetheart? Total bitch? She has tats. Significant? She’s a Cancer. She wears acrylic tips. I wonder if she has a boyfriend. And if so, how they met? Is he cheating? Is she? How close is she with her family? Is she a single child? What does she want to become? Does her…
Black Acrylic knew her. Her name is Rocquel.
“Rocquel was killed last year in February for turning down a guy at her school, Tennessee State University. She told him that she’s a lesbian & she had no interest in him whatsoever. He and his friends kidnapped her, raped her, and beat her to death. She was missing for 2 weeks. Her body was found broken and beaten in an abandoned house. I used to tutor her on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She was only 18.”
Someone find these culprits. And hug them. Tell them you love them and that we forgive them. They’re angry. They’re mad. Talk to them, find out why. Hating them will only enable them.
Bob Marley said: “The people who are trying to make this world worse aren’t taking a day off. How can I?”
Inject Love.
This past Saturday, I took part in my first wedding. A very good friend and former college teammate of mine asked me to be a bridesmaid and I gladly accepted. I’m a huge fan of Texas so I couldn’t wait to get down to San Antonio and just as I expected, we all had an amazing time. I had the chance to relive junior year with old friends and even made some new ones. It was truly a blessing to witness the union of Mr. and Mrs. Brown. She and her hubby are headed to Bahamas for their honeymoon.
I snagged a few pics before and after the wedding with my iPhone. The professional shots should be surfacing within the next week or so.
An excerpt from my personal life…
“This view of the park by my client’s house got me so inspired today. On a street lined with pristine buildings, gorgeous facades.
Morningside Park, Harlem.
It made me want to bust my ass even more to get to where I want to be. So I can provide this kind of view for our kids and you and I. In our duplex or brownstone or condo with floor to ceiling windows. And family dinners and vacations and trips across the world - and trips right within our city. Museums and zoos and movies.
I stood in front of the building just staring into the park for a few seconds, frozen, picturing all the possibilities and where we’ll be, together, 5, 10, and 15 years from today.
I’m happy where we are now. Your love keeps me going.”
