Ya look good, ya smell good

She talk proper, ya not the talk of the town

Meaning ya good news (said ya good news)

Meaning I would do, anything to write a story on ya

- TiRon (TiRon & Ayomari f. Yummy Bingham - All My Love)

I listen to this song about 5 - 7 times a day (on repeat). I think it’ll be my jam for a while, too. Something about it is mesmerizing in a feel good way. Reminds me of summertime.

Since Handshakes & Pounds dropped in ‘07, TiRon has been the culprit behind some consistent, innovative, quality music. The song above is off his joint project with Ayomari, A Sucker for Pumps. I bought my copy via Bandcamp. Get yours there or on iTunes.

And if you’re in Brooklyn, come out to Public Assembly tonight. Blu, TiRon & Ayomari, Chris Turner, Kooley High, Scienze, Fresh Daily and DJ Prince on the wheels. This is one of those shows that you don’t say no to.

I wrote this because blue is my favorite color.

That is completely untrue.

Mr. Blue is extremely personal, but not exactly literal. It incorporates bits and pieces of real life events, and people, but more than anything it was born from a feeling. It’s a story of two people who brought broken…

Making Friends Across the World

About 8 months ago, I was on my way to work and crossed paths with a Brazilian married couple at the Times Square train station. They needed help finding Macy’s and we got into an interesting conversation on the train platform so, I offered to ride with them and personally escort them to the store.

The look on the wife’s face when I explained that it took up an entire block and her reaction when she actually saw it with her own eyes? PRICELESS.

They were both so grateful when we got there that they hugged me, thanked me repeatedly and asked if we could take a picture together. Still a very fond memory for me. After I refused to accept the money they offered me, they asked for my email, said they’d send me our photo and promised that whenever I was in Sao Paulo, I’d always have a place to stay. To be completely honest, I was really looking forward to that email - but it never came.

Until yesterday, =D.

In staying true to my inner dweeb, I’m printing this email and taping it to my fridge. It always warms my heart to know that there are kind, genuine people all over the world.

hallpasstour:

Wow! The past month has been incredible. We’ve met hundreds of students, community members, parents and school faculty/administrators. I sat at my computer around 5 this morning scanning through pics and footage from the tour and laughed hysterically, beamed with pride and almost cried once (or twice) thinking about how much we’ve accomplished and reliving all the unforgettable moments on the road. Thank you to all the schools who’ve welcomed us with open arms this fall: Richard R. Green HS of Teaching, Plattsburgh High School, Ticonderoga Central School, Crown Point Central School, Keeseville Elementary School, Willsboro Central School, Paterson School No. 5, International High School/Garrett Morgan Academy.

With our Jersey City and DC concerts this week being rescheduled for next Spring, this Thursday and Friday, we conclude the northeast leg of the tour with F.D Stubbs Elementary School in Wilmington, DE on 12/15 and Pelham Preparatory Academy in the Bronx, NY on 12/16. Both shows are open to the public and we’ll be rockin’ from 6pm - 8pm. The Delaware show is FREE, the Bronx concert has a minimal cover charge $5.

So, pick a date and join us, k? Cool. I promise you’ll have a blast.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite photos/moments from the road. Check our Facebook Page for albums from each individual concert. Footage will be making its way to you at the close of the tour.

Once again, thank you all for your continued support!

I asked the bartender for Bailey’s w/ hot chocolate and whipped cream. They’re adding it to the holiday dessert menu and calling it the “Holl(e)y.” Swag. (Taken with Instagram at Essex Inn on the Adirondack Coast)
